A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF ROSAIR AIR CONDITIONING CORPORATION FOR FURNISHING EIGHT (8) CONDENSER COILS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $ 6, 416.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1986-87 OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS MATERIAL. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 10, 1986 for furnishing eight (8) condenser coils to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 28 potential suppliers and 5 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1986- 87 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of General Services Administration for the purpose of repairing the air conditioning unit at the Manuel Artime Community Center; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Rosair Air Conditioning Corporation be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The November 10, 1986 bid of Rosair Air Conditioning Corporation for furnishing Eight (8) condenser coils to the Department of General Services Administration at a total proposed cost of $6,416.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1986-87 Operating Budget. Total cost of this material will be $6,416.00, which funds are available in the Property Maintenance Division budget of the General Services Administration Department. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #36-87-014, to provide eight (8) condenser coils for a Carrier air conditioning unit. These items are needed to repair the air conditioning unit at the Manuel Artime Community Center. The department recommends award be made to Rosair Air Conditioning Corporation, an Hispanic vendor, as the lowest acceptable responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $6,416.00. Funds for this purpose are available in the 1986-87 budget of the Property Maintenance Division, General Services Administration Department.
