WHEREAS, the Ci ty Comini ssioil adopted Ordi nance No. 10150 on September 25, 1986, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of ifi ami , for the fi scal year ending September 30, 198-7 and WHEREAS, the City Commission expressed concern over the level of safety of the City's fleet of light motor vehicles, trucks and motorcycles, specifically police patrol vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City F4anager established a task force charged with determining the number of new vehicles needed to be acquired to achieve the City Commissions stated objectives; and WHEREAS, said task force recommended the acquisition of 184 automobiles, light trucks, motorcycles and related accessories costing $1,645,352; and WHEREAS, the City Commission Resolution No. 86-921 authorizing vehicles; and WHEREAS, the remaining 159 utilizing Bid award 86-87-013; and on November 13, 1986 passed the purchase of 25 police vehicles will be purchased WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $1,645,352 is available from the proceeds of the sale of Certificate of Participation Notes; and WHEREAS, said monies will be appropriated into the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Division and transferred to the Motor Pool Maintenance Division; NOW, THE..R1MJ°JJSSION Or THE CITY OF 7FOREI RF� IT ORDAINP) 13Y THE Co MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 4 and 6 of Ordinance No. 1.0150 adopted Sep . tember 25, 19 8 6 the Annual Appropriation Ordinance f 0 r the fiscal year ending September 30, 1987, is hereby amended in the following particulars I Section 4. The following activities, which are carried on For the service And convenience of other funds, shall be operated by the City Manager within the limits of the appropriations provided in the Foregoing departments, boardsl offices, and accounts of the city of Miami and other revenues or receipts which may be received: Internal Service Funds Appropriation k k Heavy Equipment Maintenance $ 9,594,678 Motor Pool Maintenance tiny 'T /,IZ8,958 k k Total Internal Service Funds $ 27,288,914 k * Section 6. The above appropriations are made based on the following sources of revenues for the 1986-87 fiscal year: Internal Service Funds Revenue -k k -k Heavy Equipment Maintenance 7,949,326 $ 9,594,678 Motor Pool Maintenance S 5,841 Total Internal Service Funds $ $ 27,288,914 Section 2. The herein appropriation into the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Division of $1,645,352 is from the proceeds of the sale of Certificate of Participation Notes. These monies will be appropriated into the Motor Pool Maintenance Division to fund the purchase of 184 automobiles, light trucks, motorcyles and related accessories. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as stricken through shall be deleted. Words and/or figures Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. 'Revenue in an equal amount i s avail able from the proceeds of the sal a of Certificate a` Participation notes. Background: The General Se ry 1 c es Administration Departmen t has recommended that 387 automobiles, light trucks, motorcycles, and related accessor•i_es costing 53,791,874 be purchased to comply with the City Commi ssion' s stated pol icy "of increasi ng the l evel of safety of the City's fleet of light motor vehicles, trucks and motorcycles; specifically police patrol vehicles. Included in the proposed appropriation is the purchase of the 25 pol ice vehicles that the Ci ty Commi ssion author�i -zed on November 13, 1986 as Resolution No. 86-921. The remaining 362 vehicles will be purchased utilizing Bid Award 86-87-013. The attached Emergency Ordinance amends the appropriate sections of the FY'87 annual appropriations ordinance adopted on September 25, 1986 by increasing the appropriations and revenue for the General Services Admi ni stration budget.
