The purpose of this appearance is to request a $25,000 matching
fund contribution to install a Comprehensive Competencies Program,
;nc. a modern computer assisted method of teaching remedial skills in a
shorter than average period of time, as well as English as a Second

:ssc� The Ford Foundation has offered a $25,000 grant for the purchase of
the hardware and collateral teaching equipment and materials in a
turnkey package. AT&T has offered $25,000 this year followed by
another $25,000 grant for next year as a supplement to the total
-` 3itl operational cost of operating the program.
Other funds for the balance of the initial investment and operation
of the center are being sought through other means from private

corporations, including an activity to earn funds from ticket sales
to the Miami Grand Prix.

shortly.
