With respect to the issue to be brought before the Condesion
on Dec. 11, 1986, this Association supports the Planning Department's
recommendations for changes in the zoning regulations concerning 'transitional
use,.
This Association urges that you vote for the changes as proposed
by the Planning Department*
lnb understand that there is a move afBot to rename the Miami
Stadium to a Latin baseball hero. We see this as a further attempt to
erode the heritage of Miami. We see this as discrimination against the
American culture and history. Historically, this stadium has been the home
of the Baltimore orioles. Therefore, if any change should be shade and I'm
not sure that it should, then we suggest the change should reflect U. S.
history in the baseball area with such names as Baltimore Oriole Miami
Stadium, or Miami Bade Ruth Stadium.
