HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-87-0102J-87-119 1/22/87 RESOLUTION NO. 87.' 102 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, IN SUPPORT OF A CELEBRATION TO BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 7- 8, 1987 TO MARK THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE SECOND LIBERATION OF HAITI; SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1- 84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AND ASSURANCES THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $10,000 is hereby allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, in support of a celebration to be held on February 7-8, 1987, to mark the first anniversary of the second liberation of Haiti. Section 2. The herein allocation is hereby conditioned upon substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative Policy APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984. Section 3. In order to effectuate safe passage during the celebration of the first anniversary of the second liberation of Haiti, the following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic from 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 7, 1986 to 2:00 A.M, February 8, 1987: 54th Street from North Miami Avenue to N.E. 2nd Avenue Included in the herein closure are all streets alleys, ways an t orouucc _ayes whichintersect enumerated areas delineated in this Section. avenues .T COMMISSION MEETING OF JAN 22 1981 ... .._ 87--1C Section 4. Such closing of streets is subject to the issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and traffic needs of residents, businesses and religious institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's judgement predicated upon all factors set forth herein. Section 5. Such closing of streets is subject to the organizers of this event obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by the City of Miami, Finance Department, Risk Management Division. The purpose of this letter is to request from you and the Miami City Commission authorization to close 54 Street from North Miami Ave. to NE 2nd Ave. on Saturday February 7, 1987 from 10:00 a.m. til 2:•00 a.m. February 8th, 1987. During those hours, we want to request that the above -mentioned parameters be barricaded, and that two (2) stands (platforms) with P.A.•sys be provided to us.
