A RESOLUTION CORRECTING TWO SCRIVENER'S
ERRORS IN SECTION 1 OF RESOLUTION NO. 86-221,
ADOPTED APRIL 10, 1986, TO REFLECT
JULY 17, 1985 AS THE BID OF COBIA BOAT
COMPANY FOR FURNISHING TWO PATROL VESSELS AND
ALLIED EQUIPMENT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL
SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AND ALSO TO REFLECT
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND AS THE SOURCE
OF FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID VESSELS AND
EQUIPMENT AS AUTHORIZED BY SAID RESOLUTION
NO. 86-227.
WHEREAS, at its meeting of March 18, 1986, the City
Commission discussed the authorization for the purchase of two
new boats for the Marine Patrol using monies therefor from the
Law Enforcement Trust Fund (Agenda Item #85, Motion No. 86-193);
and
WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 10, 1986, a resolution was
adopted accepting the bid of Cobia Boat Company for the
furnishing of said two patrol vessels (Agenda Item #72,
Resolution No. 86-287); and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 86-287 erroneously referred to
sealed bids having been received July 17, 1986 instead of
July 17, 1985, and further erroneously listed the source of
funding for said purchase as being allocated from the 1984-1985
Operating Budget of the Department of General Services
Administration instead of from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund;

WHEREAS, an examination of the transcript of the City
Commission meetings on March 18, 1986 and April 10, 1986, as well
as a review of the documentation connected with the August, 1986
purchase of said vessels and allied equipment, reveal that the
above misstatements were the result of scrivener's errors;

r.
On April 10,.1986, the City Commission passed Resolution No. a&-
287 authorizing the purchase of two (2) marine patrnl vessels
from the Cobia Boat Company. It was my intent that these be
purchased with revenues from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund;
However, the resolution prepared by the General Services
Administration and executed by the City Commission reflects that
monies for the purchase of these boats will come from funds
allocated from the 1984-85 Operating Budget of the Department.
Another minor error which needs to be addressed is the reference
to the bid date under Section 1 of this resolution. This date
should be July 17, 1985, rather than July 17, 1986.
Therefore, I am requesting that you take appropriate action so
that the discrepancies/errors in the Cobia Boat Company purchase
resolution be corrected, and the resolution amended to reflect
the correct information and the intent in order to avoid any
future problems and/or confusion regarding this matter.
Your assistance in this matter of mutual interest is greatly
appreciated.
