UNDER A STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACT #070-100- 200 AT A PROPOSED COST OF $337,421.00 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $2,074,668.05; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE PROCEEDS FROM THE CERTIFICATES OF PARTICIPATION NOTES WHICH SHALL BE APPROPRIATED TO THE FLEET MANAGEMENT DIVISION, GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT 1986-87 OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THESE VEHICLES SUB- JECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received February 2, 1987 for the furnishing of approximately 165 Police Patrol Vehicles to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty five (25) potential suppliers and five (5) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the proceeds from the certificates of participation notes which shall be appropriated to the Fleet Management Division, General Services Administration Department 1986-87 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, these vehicles will be used by the Department of General Services Administration for the purpose of furnishing new police pursuit vehicles to the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Rainbow Dodge be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The February 2, 1987 bid of Rainbow Dodge for furnishing 165 Police Pursuit Vehicles at the proposed cost of $1,737,247.05 and authorizing the purchase of 38 Police Patrol Vehicles from Regency Dodge, Inc. under a State of Florida Contract #070-100-200 at a proposed cost of $337,421.00 to the CITY COMMISSION. MEETING OF FEB 12 1987p ESOLUTION No.8 •-:iI904. i�, Department of General Services Administration at a total proposed cost of $2,074,668.05 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the proceeds of the certificates of participation notes which shall be appropriated to the Fleet Management Division of the Department of General Services Administration 1986-87 Operating Budget. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order for this equipment subject to the availability of funds. Total cost of the vehicle purchase is estimated to be $1,347,682.56, which funds shall be available from the proceeds of the certificates of participation notes and which shall be appropriated to the Fleet Management Division oner_atinq budget of the General Services Administration Department. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #86-87-043, to furnish police pursuit vehicles and additional dealer services. This recommendation provides for acquisition of automobiles for police use as listed below. Vendor Qty. Each of these services shall be used on an as needed basis and were bid either per hour or ner occurrence. The identification of a specific local services representative is without charge.
