HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-87-0137J-87-144 2/2/87 RESOLUTION NO. 87-137 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF YAMAHA MOTOR CORPORATION FOR FURNISHING TWO (2) OUTBOARD MOTORS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $9,200.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1986-87 OPERATING BUDGET ACCOUNT NO. 290201-850; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received December 24, 1986 for the furnishing of Two (2) Outboard Motors to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to nineteen (19) potential suppliers and two (2) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1986- 87 Operating Budget Account No. 290201-850; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of General Services Administration for City of Miami Police Department Marine Patrol vessels; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Yamaha Motor Corporation be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The December 24, 1986 bid of Yamaha Motor Corporation for furnishing Two (2) Outboard Motors to the Department of General Services Administration at a total proposed cost of $9,200.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1986-87 Operating Account No. 290201-850. Odio City Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract for purchase of two (2). outboard motors to Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, the lowest complete responsive bidder in accord with Bid No. 86-87-028. Total cost of this material will -be $9,200.00, which funds are available in the Police Department operating budget. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #86-87-028, to furnish two (2) 200 H.P. outboard motors which are needed for the City of Miami Police Department Marine Patrol vessels, and has recommended award be made to Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, as the lowest acceptable responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $9,200.00. Funds for this purpose are available in the 1986-87 budget of the Police Department. Amount of Bid: $9,200.00 Budgeted Amount: $9,200.00 % of Cost Estimates: N/A Source of Funds: 1986-87 Police Department budget code 290201- 850.
