BACKGROUND:
The City of Miami through the Department of Development has been
formally requested by the State of Florida Department of - Natural
Resources to prepare the attached Resolution authorizing the City
Manager to reimburse the State of Florida for two reappraisals of the

estimates of the property.
The State of Florida is required to have funds on deposit before a

two firms selected by the State to perform the appraisals are
Property Consultants, Inc. and Hedge-Peth and Gallaher, Inc.
Reimbursement is requested to be made to the State, subject to an
Agreement between the City and the owners of the Barnacle Addition
property, stipulating that the pending litigation is not prejudiced
by the acquisition of said appraisals. Funding for said
reimbursement in the amount of $15,000 is available from the Property
