HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-87-0127J-87-111 I/ 26/87 RESOLUTION NO. 87-1 1"i A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF LANZO CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AT A TOTAL COST OF $716,972.67 FOR WAGNER CREEK RENOVATION; AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $18,753.07. WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated October 1, 1985 between the City of Miami and Lanzo Construction Company; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed by Lanzo Construction Company and they have furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final payment made to the contractor; i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE I CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The completed work performed by Lanzo i i Construction Company for WAGNER CREEK RENOVATION at a total cost of $716,972.67 is hereby approved. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay $18,753.07 to Lanzo Construction Company as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with WAGNER CREEK y RENOVATION. Odio City Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: FEB 41987 FILE: B-5508 WAGNER CREEK RENOVATION Resolution for Final Payment It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution accepting the completed work performed by Lanz•o Construction Company at a total cost of $716,972.67 for WAGNER CREEK RENOVATION, and authorizing a final payment of $18,753.07. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for Wagner Creek Renovation. Lanzo Construction Company has completed the project consisting of the construction of 1775 linear feet of 8' x 4' concrete box culvert, and a 34' x 10' special manhole structure along with all necessary appurtenances. The work is located in Wagner Creek easement west of N.W. 15th Avenue between N.W. 20th and 23rd ,Streets. The total payment to the contractor will be less than the original contract amount of $787,320.00 because not all of the bid item quantities and the $60,000 Cash Allowance for special items was used.
