AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 65, ARTICLE II,
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, PROVIDING NEW DEFINITIONS RELATING
TO PUBLIC SERVICE TAXES ON TELECOMMUNICATIONS
SERVICES, LOWERING THE RATE OF TAX ON
TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES TO SEVEN PERCENT,
TAXING ADDITIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS
SERVICES; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION, A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that, due to the
amendment of Florida Statutes, Chapter 166, there is a need to
expand and enlarge Chapter 55, Article .II A' toe City Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission eleofs to reduce the Public
Service tax rate on Miami oitizens',babio monthly local telephone
service from ten (10) to seven ( ) percent; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to expand the scope of
telecommunications service t
