WHEREAS, the Mia?ni City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9743, on November, 16, 1983, -establishing a special. revenue Lund entitled "Park Development Fund"; an1 WHEREAS, said fund provided a perpetual revenue fund account into which private donations are to be deposited and From.which �basis for, park appropriations- willhP made- Un an ongofn development or redevelopment projects; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 10078, adopted March 6, 1986, appropriated $5,000 for the Park Development Fund; and WHEREAS, the City of. Miami has received additional private donations totalling $16,000; NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 1 ofOrdinance No.. 9743, adopted November 16, 1983, as amended, which established a Special Revenue Fund entitled "Park Development Fund", is hereby amended in the following particularsl: "Section 1. The following Special. Revenue Fund is hereby, established as described herein: Fund Title: Park Development. Fund $21,000 Resources: Private Donations $rem Appropriations: Park Development Fund $ $21 0 Section 2. This Ordinance incorporates $16,000 in private donations received for the purpose of defraying the cost of Park Development Projects or providing local match requirements for federal and state grants. l.Figures stricken through shall, be, deleted. BACKGROUND The Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities has prepared the attached legislation. On November ib, 1 83, the City _,Commission adopted Ordinance 9743, creating the Park Development, Fund for the purpose of providing an accounting system to accept and appropriate private donations for park development or redevelopment projects. On March 6, 198G, the Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10078 which appropriated the first donation to this fund: $5,000 from Fabulous Diamonds Partnership. Since that date, additional donations totalling $1e,000"have been received:. $15,000 from Fort Dallas Docks and. $1,000' from ;:�lvio and Julia Tarajano. These funds will be. used to purchase sand, clay and other materials for playground, ballfield and other park renovations. The ordinance should be adopted on an emergency basis.in order to, allow the Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities Department time to 'purchase the materials and cornplete the renovations prior to the start of summer,programs.
