RESOLUTION NO.87-241
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK
OF GARCIA ALLEN CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. AT
A TOTAL COST OF $824,982.65 FOR MANOR
STORM SEWER PROJECT BIDS "B" & "C" AND
AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $46,918.30.
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated May 3, 1985,
between the City of Miami, Florida and Garcia Allen Construction
Co., Inc. for MANOR STORM SEWER PROJECT BIDS "B" & "C"; and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed,
and Garcia Allen Construction Co., Inc. has furnished the
required documents certifying that all bills for labor and
materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid
contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The completed work performed by Garcia Allen
Construction Co., Inc. for MANOR STORM SEWER PROJECT - BIDS "B" &
"C" is hereby accepted at a total cost of $824,982.65.
Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are
hereby authorized to pay Garcia Allen Construction Co., Inc. a
balance of $46,918.30 as full and final payment for all work
performed and all materials furnished in connection with the
aforesaid contract.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this13 day of March 1987.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission
adopt the attached resolution accepting the completed work
performed by Garcia Allen Construction Co., Inc. at a total
cost of $824,982.65 for MANOR STORM SEWER PROJECT - BIDS "B"
& "C"; and authorizing a final payment of $46,918.30.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now
in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and
authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for
the Manor Storm Sewer Project - Bids "B" & "C".
Garcia Allen Construction Co., Inc. has completed the
project consisting of constructing 51 French drains and
covered ditches including all necessary appurtenances in an
area bounded by N.W. 7-19 Avenue between N.W. 40-51 Streets.
The total payments to the contractor are less than the
original contract amount by $104,892.06. This was a unit
price contract in the amount of $929,874.71, the final
construction cost for the project is $824,982.65.
