OF FLORIDA UNDER A METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY BID #0702 AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $50,000.00 ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR RENEWABLE ANNUALLY TO THE GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1986-87 FLEET MANAGEMENT DIVISION GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received February 2, 1987 for furnishing tire recapping and repair services to the General Services Administration Department; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to thirty three (33) potential suppliers and six (6) bids were received; and WHEREAS, the City Commission rejects the City Bids and accepts the lowest bid from P.R.I.D.E. of Florida under a Metropolitan Dade County Bid #0702; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1986-87 Fleet Management Division, General Services Administration Department, Account Code #420201-670 Operating Budget; CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF MAR 13 19" EMM014 NO. 87-23; WHEREAS, this service will be used by the General Services Administration Department for the purpose of tire recapping and repair for the City Garage and Motor Pool Division; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the General Services Administration Department recommend that the purchase from P.R.I.D.E. of Florida under a Metropolitan Dade County Bid be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The February 2, 1987 bid for furnishing tire recapping and repair service is hereby rejected under the provisions of City Code Section 18-52.1; and the purchase from P.R.I.D.E. of Florida, Inc. under Metropolitan Dade County Bid #0702 at a proposed cost of $50,000.00 for furnishing tire recapping and repair service on a contract basis for one (1) year renewable annually to the General Services Administration Department is hereby approved with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1986-87 Fleet Management Division, General Services Administration Department Operating Budget. Odio City Manager ENCLOSURES: I RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract for furnishing tire recapping and repair services, to P.R.I.D.E. of Florida for purchases to be made under Metropolitan Dade County Bid #0702 as specified below, as the lowest total cost for tire recapping and repair. Total cost of these services are estimated to be $50,000.00, which funds are available in the Fleet Management Division budget of the General Services Administration Department. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #86-87-041, to furnish tire recapping and repair services. As a result of this analysis, it was determined that the bids received by the City should be rejected and the bid of P.R.I.D.E. of Florida to Metropolitan Dade County under their Bid #0702, should be recommended for award as the lowest total bid for both recapping and repair services. Therefore, it is recommended award be made to P.R.I.D.E. of Florida, in the estimated amount of $50,000.00. Funds for this purpose are available in the 1986-87 budget of the Fleet Management Division, General Services Administration Department.
