ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the execution of an amendment, in
substantially the form attached 'hereto, to the April 11, 1986
Agreement between the Little Havana Development Authority and the
City of Miami for the professional services of said Authority in
the development of a Latin Quarter in the City of Miami, in
accordance with the terms and conditions as set forth therein.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works has analyzed the need to execute
the attached amendment to the existing City agreement with the
Little Havana Development Authority. The proposed amendment
increases the termination date of the contract by two months to
June 26, 1987•
The extension is necessary so that the Little Havana Development
Authority can continue to provide its services through the
completion of the County's S.W. 17 Avenue rebuilding project,
which has been dalayed by Right -of -Way acquisition problems.
There will be no additional funding for this extension. The
funds have previously been appropriated and approved by the
Economic Development Administration (the Granting Agency) for
physical improvements for the proposed Latin Quarter Project.
