UNDER A STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACT AT A PROPOSED COST OF $108,056.00 FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $110,852.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE PROCEEDS FROM THE CERTIFICATES OF PARTICIPATION NOTES WHICH SHALL BE APPROPRIATED TO THE 1986-87 HEAVY EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE DIVISION, GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT SUB- JECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received December 8, 1986 for the furnishing of thirteen (13) Pickup Trucks and two (2) Three Wheel Scooters to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to thirty eight (38) potential suppliers and five (5) bids were received; and - WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the Certificates of participation notes which shall be appropriated to the 1986-87 Heavy Equipment Maintenance Division, General Services Administration Department Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Departments of Solid Waste, Parks Recreation and Public Facilities and General Services Administration at their respective facilities; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Honda North be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid, and the City bids for the purchase of twelve (12) compact pick-up trucks be rejected and the purchase from Don Reid Ford, Inc. under State of Florida Contract be approved; CITY COMM M MEETING OF APR 9 1987 r� - NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The December 8, 1986 bid of Honda North for furnishing two (2) three wheel scooters at a proposed cost of $2,796.00 be accepted and the purchase of thirteen (13) compact pickup trucks from Don Reid Ford, Inc. under a State of Florida contract at a proposed cost of $108,056.00 for the Department of General Services Administration at a total proposed cost of $110,852.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the proceeds from the certificates of participation notes which shall be appropriated to the 1986-87 Heavy Equipment Maintenance Division, General Services Administration Department Operating Budget. Section la. The City bids for the purchase of thirteen (13) compact pick-up trucks is hereby rejected. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue Purchase Orders for this equipment subject to the availability of funds. Odio A City Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: rr� APR 31987 FILE: Resolution Authorizing Award of Bid #86-87-024 Purchase of 13 Compact Trucks and 2 Three Wheel Scooters It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract for purchase of 2 three wheel scooters to Honda North as the lowest complete responsive bidder in accord with Bid No. 86-87-024, also rejecting bids received for compact pickup trucks in accord with Bid No. 86-87- 024 and awarding a contract for the purchase of 13 compact pickup trucks to Don Reid Ford, Inc: for purchases to be made under the State of Florida contract specified below. Total cost of these purchases is estimated to be $110,852.00, which funds shall be available from the proceeds of the Certificates of Participation notes and which shall be appropriated to the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Division operating budget of the General Services Administration Department. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #86-87-024, to furnish two (2) three wheel scooters and thirteen (13) compact pickup trucks. Twelve (12) pickup trucks shall be used by the Solid Waste Department and one (1) by the General Services Administration Department. These shall replace thirteen (13) automobiles in current use. The two (2) scooters are for use by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities and are replacements. Below are listed the awards recommended to be made. Vendor Qty.
