FOR REMOVING THE OLD FENCING, AND FURNISHING AND INSTALLING NEW FENCING AT FIRE STATION #6 FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A PROPOSED COST OF $4,658.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1986-87 PROPERTY MAINTENANCE DIVISION FUNDS, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES/OUTSIDE #420401-670; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received March 4, 1986 for the removal, furnishing and installation of new fencing at the Fire Station #6 for the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty (20) potential suppliers and four (4) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available from the 1986-87 Property Maintenance Division Funds, Repair and Maintenance Services/Outside - #420401-670; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of General Services Administration to remove old fencing and furnish and install new fencing at Fire Station #6; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Chastain Fence Co., Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: —" Section 1. The March 4, 1987 bid of Chastain Fence Co., Inc. for removing old fencing and furnishing and installing new fencing at Fire Station #6 a proposed cost of $4,658.00 for the Department of General Services Administration is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1986-87 Property Maintenance Division Funds, Repair Services/Outside- #420401-670. CITY COMMSION MEETING OF APR 9 1987 Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order for this service. Odio City Manager 6P ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract to remove old fencing and to furnish and install new fencing at Fire Station #a, 701 17.NV. 36 Street, to Chastain Fence Co., Inc., a non -minority vendor, the lowest complete responsive bidder in accord with Bid No. 86- 37-055. Total cost of these materials and services are estimated to be $4,658.00, which funds are available in the Property Maintenance Division budget of the General Services Administration Department. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #86-87-055, to remove old fencing and to furnish and install new fencing at c^i.ce Station #6, 701 N.W. 36 Street and has recommended award be made to Chastain Fence Co., Inc., as the lowest acceptable responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $4,658.00. Funds for this purpose are available in the 1986-87 budget of the Property Maintenance Division, General Services Administration Department.
