FOR REMOVING AND TRANSPORTING TO CITY PROPERTY THE CITY'S RADIO TOWER WHICH IS NO LONGER IN USE AND IS LOCATED AT THE FORMER FAA BUILDING AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A PROPOSED COST OF $17,896.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1986-67 COMMUNICATION SERVICES DIVISION FUNDS ACCOUNT #429401-PROJECT CODE 314021; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received March 4, 1986 for the removal and transportation of radio tower for the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to eleven (11) potential suppliers and one (1) bid was received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available from the 1986-87 Communication Services Division Funds, Account #429401- Project Code 314021; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of General Services Administration to remove and transport the City's radio tower which is no longer in use and is located at the former FAA building at Miami International Airport; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Epperson Cranes, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section I. The March 4, 1987 bid of Epperson Cranes, Inc. for removing and transporting to a City location the City's radio tower which is no longer in use and is located at the former FAA building at Miami International Airport at a proposed cost of $17,896.00 for the Department of General Services Administration is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1986-87 Communication Services Division Funds, Account #429401 Project Code 314021. Funds for this purpose are available in the 1986-87 budget of the Communications Services Division, General Services Administration Department. Metropolitan Dade County has requested the City of Miami to remove the City's radio tower located at the former FAA building at Miami International Airport, on county property. This tower is no longer used for radio communications by the City. The company providing service shall transport the pieces of the tower to City property, at 1080 N.W. 20 Street.
