A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND
SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION
ON BEHALF OF ALL CITY OF MIAMI EMPLOYEES AND
CITIZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF RONNIE
DeSILLERS, UPON HIS TRAGIC DEATH; ALSO
DECLARING THAT THE HEROIC STRUGGLE OF THIS
BRAVE YOUNGSTER WAS NOT IN VAIN BECAUSE HIS
DISPLAY OF COURAGE INSPIRED AN ENTIRE
COUNTRY; FURTHER URGING THAT THE FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT TAKE IMMEDIATE STEPS TO CREATE A
NATIONAL BANS FOR ORGAN TRANSPLANTS SO THAT
TIMELY RESPONSES MAY BE MADE WHEN THE NEED
FOR ORGAN REPLACEMENT ARISES IN ANY COMMUNITY
OF THIS NATION.
WHEREAS, Ronnie DeSillers, died yesterday, after having
fought valiantly to 'overcome the complications resulting from a
liver dysfunction; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf
of the City of Miami, its employees, and its citizens, to express
their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Ronnie
DeSillers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. On behalf of the citizens and employees of
the City of Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the
family and friends of Ronnie DeSillers their deepest sympathy and
sincerest condolences, upon his death.
Section 2. This Resolution in offered by the nttv
Commission as a token of respect and esteem.
Section 3. The heroic struggle of this brave youngster
was not in vain because his display of courage inspired an entire
country.
Section 4. The federal government is hereby urged to
take immediate steps to create a national bank for organ
transplants so that timely responses may be made when the need
for organ replacement arises in any community of this nation.

As you may know, I certainly share your deep concern over the
struggles faced by potential organ recipients, and I join in your sorrow over
the death of Ronnie DeSillers. Please be assured that I will keep the views
of the Miami Commission in mind should any legislation on organ transplants
be considered by the full House of Representatives.
