RESOLUTION NO. fJ7-41. 1
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK
OF WILLIAMS PAVING COMPANY, INC. AT A
TOTAL COST OF $715,793.26 FOR SILVER BLUFF
STORM SEWER PROJECT (BIDS AW C.I.P.
PROJECT NO. 352185 AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL
PAYMENT OF $103,466.68
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated October 23, 1985
between the City of Miami and Williams Paving Company Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed by
Williams Paving Company, Inc. and it has furnished the
required documents certifying that all bills for labor and
materials have been paid in full in connection with the
aforesaid contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public
Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final
payment made to the contractor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The completed work performed by Williams
Paving Company Inc. for SILVER BLUFF STORM SEWER PROJECT (BIDS
A&B) C.I.P. Project No. 352185 at a total cost of $715,793.26
is hereby approved.
Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are
hereby authorized to pay $103,466.68 to Williams Paving
Company, Inc. as full and final payment for all work performed
and all materials furnished in connection with SILVER BLUFF
STORM SEWER PROJECT (BIDS A&B) C.I.P. Project No. 352185.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution accepting the completed -work performed by
Williams Paving Company, Inc. at a total cost of $715,793. 26 for
SILVER BLUFF STORM SEWER PROJECT (BIDS A&B) C.I.P. Project No.
352185 and authorizing a final payment of $103,466.68.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in
order for the Commission to accept the completed work and
authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for Silver
Bluff Storm Sewer Project (Bids A&B) C.I.P. Project No. 352185.
Williams Paving Company, Inc. has completed the project consisting
of constructing 30"®36" French drain, 3'-5' wide covered ditch,
12"-36" sea,er pipe, 2-24" ductile iron pipe inverted syphons,
special weir structures, manholes, and catch basins located from
S.W. 24 Terrace to South Dixie Highway between S.W. 22-25 Avenues.
The total payment to the contractor will be less than the original
contract amount of $890,221.41 because $142,748.79 of the proposal
items were not used and only $78,320.64 of the $110,000 Cash
Allowance for Special Items was used.
