Home My WebLink AboutR-87-0413d-87-436 4/28/87 RESOLUTION NO.--1�'t.`;; A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF CENTURY RAIN AID FOR FURNISHING EIGHT (8) IRRIGATION MICRO PROCESSOR DRIVEN FIELD CONTROLLERS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $11,400.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1986-87 GOLF COURSE ENTERPRISE FUND, MIAMI SPRINGS ACCOUNT CODE NUMBERS #490901-850 (50%) 490902-850 (50%); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 13, 1987 for the furnishing of Eight (8) Irrigation Micro Processor Driven Field Controllers and related } equipment to the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities; and d WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to eighteen (18) potential suppliers and five (5) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the 1986-87 Golf Course Enterprise Fund, Miami Springs, 490901-850 (50%) 490902-850 (50%); and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities for the purpose of completing the automated irrigation system at the Miami Springs Golf Course and establish on-line capabilities for the Melreese Golf Course; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities recommend that the bid received from Century Rain Aid be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The April 13, 1987 bid of Century Rain Aid for furnishing Eight (8) Irrigation Micro Processor Driven Field Controllers and related equipment to the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities at a total proposed cost of CnT COKMSSION MEETING OF $11,400.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1986-87 Golf Course Enterprise Fund, Miami Springs Account Code Numbers 490901-850 (50%) 490902--850 (50%). Total cost of this material will be $11,400, which funds are available in the Golf Course Enterprise Division budget of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities. BACKGROUND: The Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities has ana- lyzed the bids received pursuant to bid #86-87-069; to provide Micro Processor Driven Field Irrigation Controllers and related equipment. These items are needed to complete the automated irrigation system at the Miami Springs Golf Course and establisli on -Line capabilities for the Melreese Golf Course. The Department recommends award be made to Century Rain Aid, a non -minority vendor, as the lowest acceptable responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $11,400. Funds for the purpose are available in the 1986-87 budget of the Golf - Course Enterprise Fund, Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities.
