ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30-26 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, ENTITLED: "FEE SCHEDULE" FOR THE
PURPOSE OF GENERALLY INCREASING THE FEES
CHARGED FOR USE OF CITY DAY CARE FACILITIES;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Child Day Care Program over the
past several years has been implementing efforts to become self-
sustaining; and
WHEREAS, fee increases have not been authorized since 1985;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION ON THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 30-26 of the Code of the City of Miami,
Florida, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following
particulars: 1/
'Seo. 30-26 Fee Schedule.
The following fees shall apply to the use of the child
day care facilities of the parks, and recreation and Public

(1) Registration fee: A non-refundable registration fee of
thirty fig dollars ($30.00 50,0(3) &nnu
is required at the time of initial
enrollmentand, thereafter, annually Upon the
anniversary of the enrollment. Each additional child in
a family will be charged a twenty-five dollar (tom
28.00) non-refundable registration fee at said times.

* A reserved opening for service from September through June.
The above fees are due the Monday or the first day of
each week. A five = dollar ($5.00 10.00) late charge
will be assessed for fees submitted on the second day
of each week or thereafter. Alternative payment glans
available upon request.

Infant care, for children six (8) weeks to two (2) years
is available for forty b thirty-seven dollars (542-90
37.00) per week.
Drop -in care for unregistered children for day care when
regular school is not in session is available at twelve
thirteen dollars ($ty@ 13.00) per day for first child,
and nitre #= dollars (S90e 10.00) daily for each
additional child.
Fees are based on a forty --one fifty -week per year
operation.
Hours of operation shall be determined by the city
manager or designee thereof.
For the purpose of discouraging late pickup of children,
a ftve Igm dollar (S0.90 10.00) charge per child will be
assessed for each fifteen -minute period beyond the
designated closing time of each center. Under

family, fees may be adjusted for a designated period of
time, subject to the approval of the director of the

(S) Af ter- sohool care: The of ter-sohooi care fee shall be
ftf't a en seventeen dollars ($10.00 11.00) weekly, with no
discounts regarding family income, for children through
age nine am= (6 y) .
(4) Summer Program: Available for eleven (11) weeks June
August.
Standard weekly fees for use of
facilities shall apply.
(5) conditions for the purchase of a Blot: Applicants agree
to purchase a slot for enrollment for the operating year
September - dune, and agree that said fees are not
subject to adjustments or refunds because of absence,
illness or withdrawal of the child from the center for
any reason after the program has accepted the child for
enrollment."
Seotion 2. All ordinances of parts of ordinances insofar as
they are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
