In -regards to the above captioned subject, detailed below is the
chronological sequence of events as they relate to this request
for extension of the uniform contract:
I. August 13, 19869 Bid no. 85-86-121 was mailed out to
potential bidders within- the , City of Miami. On
September 30 1986, the bids were opened and reviewed by
this department for bid award. '
II. December 2, 19869 Bid 65-86-121 Was forwarded back to the
Property Unit to be re-evaluated due to a tabulation error.
III. January 131 1987, a request was forwarded to
Mr. Art Mullins, Chief Procurement Officer, to extend
bid f83-84- 19 through March 31, 1987, due to the lengthy
process involved with a second bid process.
IV. January 16, 1987, Mr. Mulltns forwarded a letter to Lou's
Tailoring requesting the extension of uniform
contract f83-84-19 to March 31, 1987, due to the contract
expiration date of September 30, 1986.
V. January 21, 1967, a memorandum was forwarded to you
requesting that the new bid be rejected due to the concerns
raised regarding the flammability of the polyester blends
used in the material.
YI. January 28, 1987, a memorandum was forwarded to our Budget
11nit to allow an emergency allocation of 520 uniforms be
Issued.
VII. January 29, 1987, your response to rebid the contract was
received.
V111. February 4, 1987, P.O. 0089871 was i syued and approved by
A. L. Mulltns for $45,000 to < u's Tailoring under
resolution No. 84--263 to fill v—viously issued and
unfilled chits, for the graduating academy classes and
emergency orders, With the amount such that the approved
expenditure under 83-84-19 would not be exceeded.
