RESOLUTION N0. 87-531
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK
OF M. VILA A ASSOCIATES, INC. AT A TOTAL
COST OF $547,456.31 FOR LOCAL DRAINAGE
PROJECT E-55 C.I.P. PROJECT NO. 352180 AND
AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF E29,919.56.
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated February 19, 1986
between the City of Miami and M. Vila A Associates, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed by M.
Vila A Associates, Inc. and they have furnished the required
documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials
have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid
contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public
Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final
payment made to the contractors
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The completed work performed by M. Vila A
Associates, Inc. for LOCAL DRAINAGE PROJECT E-55 C.I.P. Project
No. 352180 at a total cost of $547,456.31 is hereby approved.
Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are
hereby authorized to pay $29,919.56 to M. Vila A Associates,
Inc. as full and final payment for all work performed and all
materials furnished in connection with LOCAL DRAINAGE PROJECT
E-55 C.I.P. Project No. 352180.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution accepting the completed work performed by M.
Vila & Associates, Inc. at a total cost of $547,456.31 for LOCAL
DRAINAGE PROJECT E-55 C.I.P. Project No. 352180 and authorizing a
final payment of $29,919.56.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in
order for the Commission to accept the completed work and
authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for Local
Drainage Project E-55 C.I.P. Project No. 352180.
M. Vila b Associates, Inc. has completed the project consisting of
constructing french drain, covered ditches, storm sewer additions
with necessary catch basins, manholes, pipe and grading at 30
locations citywide.
The total payment to the contractor will be $92,166.69 less than
the original contract amount of $639,622.00 because.not all of the
proposal items were used.
