RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION REALLOCATING 11TH YEAR COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT FUNDS PREVIOUSLY ALLOCATED TO THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST PROJECT FOR THE
RELOCATION, RECONSTRUCTION, MARKETING AND
PROMOTION OF THE ARTEMUS BROWN HOUSE, SAID
FUNDS BEING REALLOCATED FOR THE PLANNING AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE OVERTOWN HISTORIC
FOLKLIFE VILLAGE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami through Resolution No. 86-805
authorized the Department of Development to use filth Year
Community Development Funds to facilitate the preservation of the
Artemus Brown House; and
WHEREAS, the herein reallocation will enable said funds to
be used for the planning and implementation of the Overtown
Historic Folklife Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $18,000 is hereby
reallocated from previously authorized llth Year Community
Development Funds, allocated to the Southeast Overtown/Park West
Redevelopment Project for the relocation, reconstruction,
marketing and promotion of the Artemus Brown House, said
reallocated funds to be used for the planning and implementation
of the Overtown Historic Folklife Village.
Section 2. The Department of Development shall work with
the Overtown Advisory Board, Ino. and the Black Archives History
and Research Foundation of South Florida in establishing the Plan
for utilizing said reallocated funds.

Section 3. This resolution shall be operative upon its
adoption and the provisions thereof, unless otherwise indicated
herein, shall also beeone effective upon its adoption.
