AT "A TOTAL COST OF $19118,I6l.48; AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $80, 547'.86• WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated February 19, 1986 between the City of Miami, Florida and Ric -Man International, Inc. for CITY WIDE SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENT PROJECT -'DOWNTOWN PHASE II CIP Project No. 351178; and WHEREAS, an increase in contract of $22,601.48 is required to cover the cost of numerous underground utility' conflicts and the necessary substitution of ductile iron pipe for clay pipe during the construction of the project; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has made a written finding that a valid emergency existed for the work to be done; ,and WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Public Works recommends the increase in contract to cover the additional costs; and WHEREAS, funds to cover the increase are available from money already allocated to the project; and WHEREAS, all of the work included in the contract and the proposed increase in contract has been satisfactorily completed by Ric -man International, Inc. and they have furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and - ---- CITY COMMIS8101y MEBTING OF SEP 1�©9 RE$Q_L�TIQN No, 815- REMARM -- = VKHASs tbo City ManaW, and tote 01r 0tt6r Of tht Department of Public Va rks recommend UC10 811C0 of fife t6inPloteti work and authorization of final payment to the norltrattoP4 NOV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED gY THE COM14ISSIOIR OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1, After a properly advertised Public heari rlg, the finding of the City Manager set forth in the preainble to this resolution is hereby ratified by an affirmative Vote of four - fifths of the City Commission, and adopted as if fully set forth in this section. Section 2. The contract between the City of Miamii ' Florida and Ric -Man International, Inc. for the construction of City Wide Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project = Downtown Phase It CIP Project No. 351178 dated February 19, 1986 is hereby increased by $22,601.48 with funds for the increase to be provided from monies already allocated to the project. Section 3. The completed work performed by Ric -Man 1.` International, Inc. for CITY WIDE SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENT PROJECT - DOWNTOWN, PHASE II C.I.P. Project No. 351178 is hereby accepted at a total cost of $1,118,161.48. Section 3. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay Ric -Man International, Inc. a balance of $80,547.86 as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with the aforesaid contract. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in order for the _Commission to authorize an increase in contract amount, accept the completed work and authorizefinal payment, after all conditions are met for the City " wide Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project - Downtown Phase II - CIP Project No. .151178. The City Wide Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project -Downtown Phase II has been completed by Ric -Man International, Inc.
