The Land Surveying Services for City of Miami projects - 1987 is hereby designated as a Category "B" r,. City Manage REC'OMMENDATib`N it is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution designating the Land Surveying Services for City of Miami Projects - 1988 as a Category 11811 Project; appointing a certification committee of not less than three (8) qualified professionals, Approving the City = Manager's appointment of a Competitive selection Committee of not less than six (6) members and appointing Jim Le:ukanech, P.E. (NSPE) of the Public Works Department as Chairperson of the Competitive Selection Committee. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now k� in'order-to select land survey firms to perform professional =7 �.1 services for the City for the 1988 calendar year. K Numerous projects and improvements are anticipated throughout the City in 1988. The Public Works Department is insufficiently staffed to accomplish all the survey work necessary to accommodate these projects. 7Y. The existing agreements with three survey firms- now in contract with the City will expire approximately at the first of the year. -It is now appropriate, therefore, to prepare for the selection of Land -Survey firms to further render the necessary professional and technical services r- once the agreements have ended.
