A RESOLUTION ORDERING NORTH FLAGLER
SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR=5500-C AND
DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS SHALL DE MADE FOR A
PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS NORTH
FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT SR 5500-C
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That a Sanitary sewer improvement identified as
NORTH FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5500-C shall be made
under the provisions of Section 56 of the Charter of The City of
Miami, as amended, said IMPROVEMENT to consist of:
Laying an 8-inch or larger Vitrified Clay and/or Polyvinyl
Chloride Pipe Sanitary Sewer at or near the (centerline) of N.W.
57 Avenue from W. Flagler Street to N.W. 7 Street
N.W. 56 Court from W. Flagler Street to N.W. 3 Street
N.W. 56 Avenue from W. Flagler Street to N.W. 7 Street

Laying six-inch (6") cast iron and/or Polyvinyl Chloride pipe
laterals, as required to the lots and parcels of land which abut
upon the above -mentioned streets, including the lots and parcels
of land described in Section 2 hereof; together with necessary
manholes, other appurtenances, pump stations, outfall,
connections to existing sewers, relaying street pavement,
sidewalks, and curb and gutters where such relaying is made
necessary by this improvement.
Section 2. Special Assessments for a portion of the cost of
said NORTH FLAGLER SANTIARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5500-C shall be
levied upon all the lots and parcels of land which abut upon the
above -mentioned streets, including the following described lots
and parcels of land, and such lots and parcels of land are hereby
designated NORTH FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
SR- 5500-C.
To each of the lots and parcels of land which abut upon the
above -mentioned streets, including the following described lots
and parcels of land to the property line of which a sewer lateral
or laterals is laid, will be assessed (the average cost) of that
lateral or laterals, under the provisions of Section 56 of the
Charter of The City of Miami, as amended;

Section 3. This IMPROVEMENT shall be designated in all proceedings
and assessments as NORTH PLAOLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5500=C,
and the above -described properties, including all the lots and parcels of
land abutting the streets described in Section 1 hereof against which
assessments shall be made for a portion of the cost thereof, hereunder, '
shall be designated as NORTH ELAOLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
SR-5500-C.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution ordering North Flagler Sanitary Sewer
Improvement District, B-5500-C (centerline sewer).
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works has determined that the area
bounded by N.W. 47 Avenue, N.W. 57 Avenue, West Flagler Street
and N.W. 7 Street is in need of a sanitary sewer collection
system. This conclusion is based on the number of septic tank
drainfield failures and the generally low land elevations and
poor soil conditions which restrict the efficiency of septic tank
and drainfield installations.
In keeping with the City of Miami's continuing program to provide
sanitary sewers for the entire City, the Department of Public
Works is proposing an assessable improvement under Section 56 of
the City Charter described as North Flagler Sanitary Sewer
Improvement B-5500-C (centerline sewer).' The district will
consist of sanitary sewer service to properties described in the
NORTH FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT area. Each property
designated for assessment under the ordering resolution will
receive a sewer service lateral to the property line.
The NORTH FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT B-5500-C (centerline
sewer) is included in the City of Miami's 1986-92 Capital
Improvement Program. The construction of this improvement will
be funded by Sanitary Sewer General Obligation Bond Funds. The
estimated total cost of this project is $4,515,000.
