Re: Personal Appearance before The City Commission
Dear Mr. Odio:
Home & Housing of Dade, Inc. is a not for profit comunity
development corporation. which has been developing housing for
low/moderate income families throughout Dade County for the past
seventeen (17) years.
We have recently completed construction of 34 townhomes, which
have been approved for Surtax Second Mortgages; making the homes
affordable to low/moderate income families. The townhomes are
located in the Overtown Community in the City of Miami. I have
included copies of our sales brochure for your information.
We are experiencing severe marketing problems in the sale of this
much needed housing. We have requested S 25.000.00 to fund a
marketing canvainn. I have attached a copy of the letter of
request sent to Mr. Jerry Geraux, Director of Housing, which
details the proposed use of the funds. We have subsequently, met
with Mr. Jerry Geraux regarding this matter and he assures us
that our request is possible.
We would appreciate an opportunity to acquaint the City
Commission with our efforts, investments and problems; and
solicit their financial in our marketing efforts. We are
