HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-87-0959J-87-970 10/22/87 RESOLUTION NO. 87-9 9 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $4,500 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, IN SUPPORT OF THE GREEK LADIES PHILOPTOCHAS SOCIETY OF SAINT SOPHIA GREEK ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL; SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984; AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AND THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY; FURTHER CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT AND POSTING A BOND FOR THE COST OF CLEAN-UP SERVICES FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $4,500 is hereby allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, in support of the Greek Ladies Philoptochas Society of Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Section 2. The herein allocation is hereby conditioned upon substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative Policy No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984. Section 3. In order to effectuate safe passage during a festival to be held at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral the following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 P.M. on November 6, 7 and 8, 1987: -1 The East Lane of S.W. 3rd Avenue between 24th and 25th Roads Section 4. Such closing of streets is subject to the issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF OCT '22 1987 )N No. 97-11 traffic needs of residents, businesses and religious institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manger's judgement predicated upon all factors set forth herein. Section 5. Such closing of streets is subject to the organizers obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by the City of Miami. Section 6. The herein authorization is hereby conditioned upon the organizers paying for all costs of City services associated with said event and posting a bond for the cost of cleanup services from the Department of Solid Waste.
