RESOLUTION NO. 87-9. 14
A RESOLUTION ORDERING CITYWIDE SANITARY SEWER
EXTENSION IMPROVEMENT - S.W. 8 COURT SR-5539-C
(CENTERLINE) AND DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY
AGAINST WHICH SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS SHALL BE MADE
FOR A PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS CITYWIDE
SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT -
S.W. 8 COURT SR-5539-C (CENTERLINE).
WHEREAS, certain properties along S.W. 8 Court between S.W.
4 Street and S.W. 5 Street are In need of sanitary sewer
service; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the City of Miami is to provide
sanitary sewer service to the entire City; and
WHEREAS, CITYWIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION IMPROVEMENT -
S.W. 8 COURT SR-5539-C (Centerline) is Included in the City of
Miami's Capital Improvement Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAM1, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That a sanitary sewer Improvement Identified as
CITYWIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION IMPROVEMENT - S.W. 8 COURT
SR-5539-C (Centerline) shall be made under the provisions of
Section 56 of the Charter of The City of Miami, as amended, said
Improvement to consist of:
Laying an 8-Inch (8") or larger vitrified clay and/or
polyvinyl chloride pipe sanitary sewer at or near the centerline
of S.W. 8 Court from S.W. 4 Street to S.W. 5 Street.

Laying 6-Inch (60) cast Iron and/or polyvinyl chloride pipe
laterals, as required to the lots and parcels of land which abut
upon the above --mentioned streets, Including the lots and parcels
of land described in Section 2, hereof; together with necessary
manholes, other appurtenances, pump stations, outfall,
connections to existing sewers, relaying street pavement,
sidewalks, and curb and gutters where such relaying Is made
necessary by this improvement.
Section 2. Special assessments for a portion of the cost
of said CITYWIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION IMPROVEMENT - S.W. 8
COURT SR-5539-C (Centerline) shall be levied upon all the lots
and parcels of land which abut upon the above -mentioned streets,
Including the following described lots and parcels of land, and
such lots and parcels of land are hereby designated as CITYWIDE
SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - S.W. 8 COURT
SR-5539-C (Centerline).
To each of the lots and parcels of land which abut upon the
above -mentioned streets, including the following described lots
and parcels of land to the property line of which a sewer
lateral or laterals Is laid, will be assessed the average cost
of that lateral or laterals, under the provisions of Section 56
of the Charter of The City of Miami, as amended:

Section 3. This Improvement shall be designated In all
Proceedings and assessments as CITYWIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION
IMPROVEMENT - S.W. 8 COURT SR-5539-C (Centerline), and the
above -described properties, including all the lots and parcels
of land abutting the streets described in Section 1 hereof
against which assessments shall be made for a portion of the
cost thereof, hereunder, shall be designated as CITYWIDE
SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - S.W. 8 COURT
SR-5539-C (Centerline).

RECOMMENDATION
It Is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution ordering Citywide Sanitary Sewer Extension
Improvement - S.W. 8 Court SR-5539-C (centerline sewer).
BACKGROUND
The Department of Public Works has completed a survey In a small
Isolated area along S.W. 8 Court between S.W. 4 Street and S.W. 5
Street and found properties presently served by septic tank and
drainfield Instal latlons. In keeping with the City of Miami's
continuing program to provide sanitary sewers for the entire City,
the Department of Public Works Is proposing an assessable
Improvement under Section 56 of the City Charter described as
Cltywlde Sanitary Sewer Extension Improvement - S.W. 8 Court, SR-
5539-C. This district will consist of sanitary sewer service to
properties along S.W. 8 Court between S.W. 4 Street and S.W. 5
Street. Each property designated for assessment under the
ordering resolution will receive a sewer service lateral to the
property line.
The Cltywlde Sanitary Sewer Extension Improvement - S.W. 8 Court
Is Included In the City of Miami's 1986-92 Capital Improvement
Program. The construction of this Improvement will be funded by
Sanitary Sewer General Obligation Bond Funds. The estimated total
cost of this project Is $50,000.
