A RESOLUTION RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE ACTION OF THE CITY MANAGER IN ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION ALLOCATING $300,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE MANUEL ARTIME AUDITORIUM, WITH SAID MONIES BEING APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO THE NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND/OR AGREEMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSES IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY AND AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF ALL NECESSARY FUNDS FOR SAID PROGRAM UPON APPROPRIATION THEREOF. WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Florida has made an appropriation grant in the amount of $300,000 for the renovation of the Manuel Artime Auditorium, via Section 1, specific appropriation 1601A, Senate Bill 1325; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has accepted this grant award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The action of the City Manager in accepting a grant award from the State of Florida Department of the Historic Preservation in the amount of $300,000 for the renovation of Manuel Artime Auditorium is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. Section 2. $300,000 of this grant award for the Manuel Artime Renovation to be appropriated by ordinance is hereby allocated as specified below: AGENCY AMOUNT CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF $300,000 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND TOTAL ALLOCATION $300,000 Section 3. Od l 0--.1 City Manager RECOMMENDATION: DATE OCT 1 31987 FILE SuBjECT Proposed Ordinance and Companion Resolution for the Manuel Artime Reno- vation Project REFERENCES City Commission Agenda October 22, 1987 ENCLOSURES It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached ordinance and companion resolution amending the Capital Improvement Appropriations Ordinance No. 10187, adopted December 11, 1986 by establishing the project entitled "Manuel Artime Renovation", project number 333083, in an amount of $300,000 from the State of Florida via Section I specific appropriation 1601A, Senate Bill 1325. This ordinance will allow Phase I of the renovation of the Manuel Artime Auditorium to take place. The companion resolution ratifies the action of the City Manager in accepting this grant award from the State of Florida Department of Historic Preservation and further authorizes the Manager to enter into the necessary contracts and/or agreements for said purposes in a form acceptable to the City Attorney. BACKGROUND: The Department of Community Development has begun to implement Phase I of the Manuel Artime Renovation Project with funds available from the State of Florida Historic Preservation grant by specific appropriation 1601A, Senate Bill 1325 for the amount of $300,000. This ordinance will appropriate said funds and allocate said amount of $300,000 establishing a new fund entitled, "The Manuel Artime Renovation", project number 333083. This project is included in the 1986-92 Capital Improvement Program of the City of Miami. 45-1 G�r�
