HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-87-1006J-87-1010 1.0/28/87 RESOLUTION NO. i �•-'iQ[��j i A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 2 AND SECTION I 3 OF RESOLUTION NO. 86-47 ADOPTED JANUARY 23, �? 1986, '^O PROVIDE AN EXPANSION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD FROM i THIRTEEN TO EIGHTEEN MEMBERS PROVIDING EACH { COMMISSIONER WITH TWO APPOINTMENTS TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD AND ALSO FOR A CHANGE IN THE TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 1987 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 1, 1989. WHEREAS, on October 22, 1987 by Motion No. 87-967 the City Commission modified the current Community Development Advisory Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Resolution No. 86-47, adopted January 23, 1986 is hereby amended in the following particulars: 1/ "Section 2. A 44 18 Development Advisory Board member Citywide Community comprised of the following membership is hereby created to advise the City Commission on community development and housing needs: - One representative (resident or property owner) from each eight Community Development target areas, to be appointed by the City Commission; - wive Ten representatives €rcem— the -prrlyate a ete lastitotlens in the Git}e€ Miami, to be appointed by the City Commission, providing Each Commissioner with two appointments to the Community Development Advisory Board. ENCLOSURESCommission Agenda Item . November 12, 1987 It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached two resolutions. The first resolution amends Resolution No. 86-47, adopted January 23, 1986 by expanding the Community Development Advisory Board from thirteen to eighteen members providing each Commissioner with two appointments to the board. It also amends the terms of membership from September 1, 1987 through September 1, 1989. The second resolution reappoints Maria Elena Torano, Luis Sabines, Heriberto Fonseca and Willie Calhoun to the Community Development Advisory Board -and appoints Mr. Jerry Park and Mr. Prospero Herrera to the Community Development board. BACKGROUND: The Department of Community Development has prepared the appropriate legislation to amend Resolution 86-47 adopted January 23, 1986 by formalizing Motion No. 87-967 passed on October 22, 1987 expanding zhe Community Development Advisory Board from thirteen to eighteen members providing each Commissioner with two appointments to the Community Development Advisory board. Legislation was also prepared formalizing Motions No. 87-966, No. 87-968 and No. 87-969 passed on October 22, 1987, reappointing Maria Elena Torano, Luis Sabines, Heriberto Fonseca and Willie Calhoun to the Community Development Advisory Board and appointing Mr. Jerry Park and Mr. Prospero Herrera to the Community Development board. 3b2—1 7- JL006
