A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THE
CITY -OWNED SITE, KNOWN AS BRICKELL
PARK, LOCATED AT 501 BRICKELL
AVENUE, IS NO LONGER SUITABLE FOR
PARK PURPOSES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTION -
TO INITIATE STEPS LEADING TO A
POSSIBLE REZONING FOR THAT SITE TO
THE SPI-5 MIXED USE ZONING
CLASSIFICATION. — -
WHEREAS, the City acknowledges that the Brickell Park site is no longer an active park site; and
WHEREAS, if the site is rezoned to the SPI-5 mixed use
zoning classification, the City could sell the property as a
development site and use the proceeds to purchase a more
desirable park site in the Brickell area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby acknowledges that
the City -owned site known as Brickell Park, located at 501
Brickell Avenue, is no longer suitable for park purposes.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to take -
the necessary action to initiate steps leading to a possible
rezoning for said site to the SPI-5 mixed use zoning
classification which would enable the City to sell the property
as a development site.
