W-tt= A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE TASTE OF THE GROVE TO BE HELD JANUARY 23 AND 24, 1988 PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ESTABLISHING A PEDESTRIAN MALL SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS I3Y THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AND THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY BE INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY; —_ CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR THE NECESSARY COST OF CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT. _ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage and establish a temporary pedestrian mall during the Taste of the Grove, the following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic from 6:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on January 23-24, 1988 as specified below: Mary Street from Grand Avenue to South Bayshore Drive i McFarlane Road from South Bayshore Drive to Main Highway South Bayshore Drive from 27th Avenue to McFarlane Road Midnite Friday, January 22 thru Midnite Sunday,January 24, 1988 Northbound lane of McFarlane Road from South Bayshore Drive to Main Highway Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues, alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect the enumerated areas delineated in this Section. Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to State approval and the issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of Police is to be issued upon full approval of the Chief of Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and traffic needs of residents, businesses, and religious institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's judgement predicated upon all factors set forth herein. Such street closures are hereby conditioned upon the organizers obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by the City of Miami and paying for all costs of City services associated with said event. We are obtaining prices now from various city departments for making the Fifth Annual Taste of the Grove a two day event. January 23-24, .1988 will be the dates for the Taste of the Grove. We would like to obtain -three things from -the commission: 1) Permission for street closure for this two day event z). A beer and wine permit for the two day event 3) A waiver of city fees for this event that benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association charity.'
