HomeMy WebLinkAboutBack-Up DocumentsCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM 1,0: Annie Perez, CPPO, Director Department of Procurement/Chief Procurement Officer �tlL FR 7.Lakisha Hull, AICR LEED AP BD+C Planning Director Department of Planning DATE: October 04, 2022 F11,E: SUBJECT: Additional scope of work in relation to previously executed contract R-18-0486, for $432,924.98 ENCLOSURES: Consultant's PSA Contracts Consultant Project Expenditure Documents By this memorandum, the Planning Department of the City of Miami ("City") is requesting to modify the Professional Services Agreements ("PSAs") authorized pursuant to RFQ No. 16-17-006 City Wide Streetscape and Street Tree Master Plan Services (the "Project") for Curtis & Rogers Design Studio, Inc (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Consultants"), to increase the contract capacity of the previously executed contract R-18-0486 by four hundred thirty-two thousand nine hundred twenty-four dollars and ninety-eight cents ($432,924.98) for a total contract capacity of one million forty-three thousand one hundred seventy-two dollars and seventy-five cents ($1,043,172.75). For an additional scope of work for professional Urban Design and Planning, as well as Landscape Architecture and Engineering services, to include an extended area within the comprehensive public streetscape and street tree master plan. Please refer to Exhibit A. JUSTIFICATION In an effort to extend the vision to restore and enhance the Urban Tree Forest (tree canopy) within the Southwest portion of the City, the Planning Department has identified an expansion area bounded by NW 71st and NW 79th Street on the north, Miami River on the south, NW 27th Ave on the west and I- 95 to the east southwestern portion of the City is comprised of several distinct neighborhoods, industrial and commercial corridors. The study area identified consists of approximately 6.0 square miles and is one of the City's areas with the greatest tree canopy deficiency. FISCAL IMPACT The fiscal impact to the City for the additional scope of work in relation to the previously executed contract R-18-0486 contract is $432,924.98. This fee is comprised of a fee for Basic Services in the amount of $422,924.98 and Reimbursable Expenses in the amount of $10,000.00. For a total contract capacity $1,043,172.75; funds will be allocated from the Tree Trust Fund. BACKGROUND In the Recommendation of Award dated December 5, 2017, the former City Manager approved the award of a Contract to Curtis & Rogers Design Studio, Inc. (Curtis & Rogers), for Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 16-17-006, Southwest (SW) Streetscape and Street Tree Master Plan Services (the "Project"). To develop a blueprint for the City's use in the implementation of a cohesive and meaningful vision to restore and enhance the Urban Tree Forest (tree canopy) within the Southwest portion of the City of Miami. Project will also recognize the interconnectedness of natural resources and greening projects, as well as focus on sustainable features. Evaluation of existing traffic and parking conditions and impacts on future residents will also be provided.
