HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-88-0108J-88-134 1/28/88 RESOLUTION NO. 414 -108 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACQUIRE BY NEGOTIATION IN LIEU OF CONDEMNATION TWO LOTS, LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOTS 7 AND 8, BLOCK 44, NEW SHENANDOAH, AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 10 AT PAGE 55 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF DADE COUNTY, A/K/A GOLDEN ARMS, AND OWNED BY ONE OWNER FOR FUTURE PUBLIC USE! COST OF ACQUISITION TO BE PROVIDED FROM THE 1988 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 321036, "GOLDEN ARMS - PROPERTY ACQUISITION" BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to acquire by negotiated purchase for future public use a parcel of property comprised of two lots both owned by one owner, which lots have been appraised and are legally described as Lots 7 & 8 of Block 44 of New Shenandoah, as recorded in Plat Book 10 at Page 55, of the Public Records of Dade County, a/k/a Golden Arms. Section 2. The following offers are hereby authorized to be made to the owner of the two lots indicated below. Owner Lot No. Offer Rolando Barrero 7 $ 50,000 Rolando Barrero 8 $300,000 Section 3. Funds to cover the cost of the herein acquisition are hereby allocated from the 1988 Capital Improvement Project No. 321036, "Golden Arms - Property Acquisition". Odi City Manager RECOMMENDATION: INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM DATE JAN 2 81988 VILE SUBJECT Resolution Authorising the Purchase of Property - Golden Arms REFERENCES kfql--! 05URFS It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing offers to be made to the owner of two lots located on SW 24 Street and 20 Avenue, a/k/a Golden Arms. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has received two appraisals on the above noted parcel of property owned by one owner. This property has an appraised value of $330,000 and the owner is a willing seller at $350,000. The parcel is comprised of two lots, one of which is vacant, and the other of which is an improved lot with a severely deteriorated substandard structure. The parcel is legally described as Lots 7 and 8, Block 44 of New Shenandoah, as recorded in Plat Book 10 at Page 55. The immediate acquisition of this parcel would eliminate a health and safety hazard to the neighborhood. Funds for this acquisition will be provided from the 1988 Capital Improvement Project No. 321036, "Golden Arms - Property Acquisition.
