RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR
HIS DESIGNEE, TO DECLARE ONE (1) SURPLUS CITY
VEHICLE AS CATEGORY "A" SURPLUS STOCK, AND
DONATING THE SAKE TO THE UNITED TENANT
COUNCIL, INC., A NONPROFIT CORPORATION, SAID
VEHICLE TO BE USED BY THE ORGANIZATION IN ITS
EFFORTS TOWARD DETERRING AND PREVENTING CRIME
IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, PARTICULARLY THOSE
CRIMES AGAINST THE FRAIL AND ELDERLY.
WHEREAS, the United Tenant Council, Inc. is a nonprofit
organization that is engaged in efforts toward deterring crime in
the City, particularly crimes against the frail and elderly; and
WHEREAS, the United Tenant Council, Inc. is in need of a
vehiole to be used in its efforts toward deterring and preventing
crime; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the need to render
assistance to citizen groups who are engaged in efforts to deter
crime; and
WHEREAS, the City has a surplus vehicle (Vehicle #402) that
could be used to fulfill this publio purpose;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby
authorized to declare one (1) surplus City vehicle as Category
"A" Surplus Stock, as provided in Section 18-81.4 of the City
Code.

REMARKS:
Section 2. Said Category "A" surplus City vehicle shall
then be donated to the United Tenant Council, Ina. in its effort
toward deterring and preventing crime in the City of Miami,
particularly those crimes against the frail and elderly.
