HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem #35 - First Reading Ordinancer ---°.~si ~t T. - --- --- - ."..'a ~ .."~ ORDtNANCE NO.~.~ AN ORDtNANCB ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVBNUE FUND ENTITLED "BLACK ARCHIVES - OVBRTOWN HISTORIC VILLAGE"; APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR TH8 S AME tN THE AMOUNT 0 F $17 , 000 FROM THB NATIONAL BNDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS FOR A NASTBR PLAN POR THE OVERTOWN HISTORIC FOLKLiFB VILLAGE; ANO AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE AFOREMENTIONED GRANT 'AND ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS; CONTAINING A REPS ALBR PROVISION AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. ~`u~v WHBRBAS, the Black Archives History and Research Foundat applied for a grant fros the National Endowment for a ~r a WHERB AS, the National Endowment for t~ Art~~ awarded a grant in the aoount of $17,000 to the B1 ves History and Research Foundation; and / ~ v WHBREAS, the Black hi ~istory and Research Foundation has requested that he~C t of iami be the recipient of the NEA grant for admin tra iie urposes; and WHBREAS, th EA grant will be used for a :Waster plan for the Overtown Historic Folklife Village; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following Special Revenue Fund is hereby established and resources are hereby appropriated as described herein: Fund Title: Black Archives-Overtown Historic Village Resources: National Endowment for the Arts 517,000 Appropriation: Black Archives History and Research Foundation Section 2. Special $17,000 Revenue Fund is established to prepare a master plan for the Overtown Historic Polklife Village. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the NEA grant as' net forth in the preamble to this Ordinance and to enter into a grant agreement with the National Endow eat for the Arts.
