A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MA14AGER TO ACQUIRE APPRAISALS
FOR THOSE PROPERTIES GENERALLY LOCATED
BETWEEN NORTHWEST 1 AVENUE AND NORTHWEST
2 AVENUE AT NORTHWEST 34 TERRACE IN THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, MORE
SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED AS LOTS 13, 14,
15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, AND
24 OF BLOCK 5 OF WY4WOOD PARK
SUBDIVISION (5-23), INCLUSIVE, OF THE
PUBLIC RECORDS OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
FOR THE PURPOSE OF POTENTIAL ACQUISITION
FOR A PUBLIC PARK; ALLOCATING FUNDS
THEREFOR FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
PROGRAM, CLEMENTE PARK RENOVATION
PROJECT NO. 331056.
WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami is striving on
a continuing basis to provide adequate open spaces in the form of
public parks for the use and enjoyment of the citizens of the
City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Park Advisory Board was created
by Resolution No. 87-687 to make a recommendation to the City
Commission as to which projects should be included in the $8
million, Citywide Neighborhood Park Renovations Project; and
WHEREAS, the recommendations of the Park Advisory were
accepted by Motion No. 87-1049; and
WHEREAS, said recommendations included $1.8 million for the
expansion and redevelopment of Roberto Clemente Park, located at
101 N.W. 34 Street, in the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the herein parcels is also an
element of the City's ongoing program to provide adequate open
spaces in the form of public parks; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami's 1984 five-year Parks and Recre-

ation Action Plan, which was prepared by the City of Miami Parks
and Recreation Department, reveals that the Wynwood Planning
District, of which the subject property is an integral part, has
a below average ratio of parks and open space to residents than
has other Planning Districts of the City of Miami; and

WHEREAS, fundingforthe appraisals required for the herein
proposed acquisition is available in the Capital Improvements
Program, Roberto Clemente Park Rehabilitation, Project No.
331056;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes and
directs the City Manager to acquire appraisals for those
properties located between Northwest 1 Avenue and Northwest 2
Avenue at Northwest 34 Terrace and legally described as Lots 13,
14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24 of Block 5 of
Wynwood Park subdivision (5-23), inclusively, of the public
records of Dade County, Florida; for the purpose of potential
acquisition for a public park.
Section 2. All recitals and findings contained in the
preamble of this resolution are hereby incorporated by reference
thereto and are hereby adopted as is fully set forth in this
section.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of February , 1988.
