IrLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO. Honorable Mayor and Members BATE: ram$ • 3 1Sgg FILE: of the City Commission SUBJECT: Resolution Amending Agreement Storm Drainage Master Plan FROM: REFERENCES: Cesar H. Odio (For Commission Meeting of City Manager ENCLOSURES: February 18, 1988) RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the execution of an amendment in a form acceptable to the City Attorney and Priede-Sedgwick, Inc. to the August 8, 1985 Agreement, as amended, between Priede- Sedgwick, Inc. and the City of Miami for professional services in the development of a Comprehensive Storm Drainage Master Plan, in accordance with the terms and conditions as set forth therein. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has analyzed the need to execute an amendment to the existing City agreement with Priede-Sedgwick, Inc., for the implementation phase study of a Stormwater Management System and Utility Program. The proposed amendment extends the termination date of the amended contract by two years to August 5, 1988 and increases the maximum total compensation allowed by $40,000. The extension of time and increase in compensation are necessary so that the Consultant can assist in the implementation of a stormwater utility program and establishment of a stormwater management system. Once in place, revenues from the utility program will be used to finance an expanded maintenance program, fund the debt service on capital projects, pay for administrative costs, and construct drainage related projects in conjunction with the clean up of the Miami River. The additional funds required for the increase in compensation will be allocated from funds previously appropriated for the project. q2-1 NS--145
