A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE EXTENSION OF THE
EXISTING CONTRACT WITH POWER FEDERAL
DETECTIVE BUREAU TO PROVIDE SECURITY SERVICES
AT THE MANUEL ARTIME COMMUNITY CENTER
APPROVED ORIGINALLY ON RESOLUTION NO. 86-980,
BID NO. 86-87-005 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR SIXTY (60) DAYS AT
AN ESTIMATED COST OF $6,000.00; ALLOCATING
FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1987-88 OPERATING
BUDGET INDEX CODE NO. 450301-340; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY ANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF
PROCUREMEN OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER
FOR THIS SkVICE.
WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of
Community Development for the purpose of providing security
services at the Manuel Artime Community Center for sixty (60)
days; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the
1987-88 Operating Budget Index Code No. 450301-340; and
WHEREAS, this contract was originally approved on Resolution
No. 86-980 on December 11, 1986, Bid No. 86-87-005; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department
of Community Development recommend that the extension for sixty
(60) days for Security Services to the Manuel Artime Community
Center provided by Power Federal Detective Bureau be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The extension of the existing contract with
Power Federal Detective Bureau approved originally on Resolution
No. 86-9801 Bid No. 86-87-005 to provide Security Services at the
Manuel Artime Community Center for sixty (60) days at an
estimated cost of $6,000.00 is hereby accepted with funds
therefor hereby allocated from the 1987-88 Operating Budget Index
Code No. 450301-340.

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission approve
the extension of Bid No. 86-87-005, with Power Federal Detective
Bureau, for security guard services, on a monthly basis, until
the end of the '87 - '88 fiscal year. Total cost of this service
will be $26,190.45, which funds are available in the Manuel
Artime Community Center budget, of the Department of Community
.Development.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Community Development has found that the
security services provided by Power Federal Detective Bureau to
the Manuel Artime Community Center, have been satisfactory, and
thereby, has recommended an extension, on a monthly basis, be
made on Bid No. 86-87-005, until the end of the '87 - '88 fiscal
year. Funds for this purpose are available in the 1987-88 budget
of the Manuel Artime Community Center, Department of Community
Development.
