The pu posefir which the organization was established, are exclu-
sively charitable and educational. The ultimate objective of the
organization is to establish:
* W. E. B. Dubois - C. L. R. James Scholarship Fund U.S.A. in
Dade County
* Project Caribbean -American Cultural Center U.S.A. in Dade County
* Caribbean American Hall of Fame U.S.A. in Dade County
The organization, in order to carry out its objectives, is seeking
a grant of $18,000.00 from the City. The funds sought, will be used
to defray part of the expenses incurred in the production of the event.
See proposed budget attached. The proposal to the City Manager and
Commissioners, it is hoped, will allow the Caribbean American Awards
of Excellence organization to adequately meet its goals and objectives,
relative to adding a new dimension to the cultural and educational en-
richment of this multi -ethnic society.
It is also envisioned that the Caribbean American Awards of Excellence
will became a focal point in the co munity, fostering a spirit of co-
hesion between different ethnic and racial groups. The organization
will endeavor, always, through its lifespan, to promote the concept
of unity as a major requirement for economic, cultural and political
development. Help us with total support, in keeping the dream alive.
Yours very ,
