Dear Mr. Odio:
On behalf of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, I
would like to request to be on the agenda of the March City
Commission meeting --as a pocket item.
March of Dimes WalkAmerica 1988 is scheduled to take place
on April 16th. The City has been very supportive in years
past. We are asking for an appearance again this year by
one of the WalkAmerica Volunteers.
We are well aware of overall city policies toward charitable
organizations, so we ask primarily for fee waivers of the
Coconut Grove Exhibition Center, Peacock Park, Merry Christmas
Park and street closures, Showmobile and miscellanous equipment.
The March of Dimes sincerely appreciates all past and current
cooperation of City Officials and Departments and recognizes
the City of Miami as an "honorary co -host" for WalkAmerica.
In closing, because of the success of lValkAmerica 1987, South
Florida placed 3rd in the nation for dollars raised toward
the future of our children.
Sin erely,
Cheryl A. Virgo
