ON J-88-209 2-24-88 RESOLUTION NO. 1414-204 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF SOUTHERN TOOL FOR FURNISHING ONE (1) BRAKE LATHE TO TER DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $7,738.79 ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1987-88 OPERATING BUDGET ACCOUNT CODE NO. 280701-840; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS. pursuant to publio notice. sealed bids were received January 25, 1988 for the furnishing of One (1) Brake Lathe to the Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to Fifteen (15) potential suppliers and three (3) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the 1987-88 Operating Budget Account Code No. 280701-840; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services for the purpose of turning brake rotors and drums of large fire apparatus in-house. The use of this device will reduce costs and down time; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services recommend that the bid received from Southern Tool be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The January 25, 1988 bid of Southern Tool for furnishing One (1) Brake Lathe to the Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services at a total proposed cost of $7,738.79 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1987-88 Operating Budget Account Code No. 280701-840.
