HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem #25 - Discussion ItemWE MUST FIND ANOTHER SOURCE Of REVENUE OTHER THAN TAXING THE CITY
RESIDENTS.
WE MUST COME UP WITH A "USER FEE" OR SOMETHING.
THE PORT TRANSPORTS PASSENGERS AND THE CITY OF MIAMI RECEIVES
NOTHING. DOWNTOWN MIAMI IS "UOWNTOWN DADE COUNTY". THE
WORKFORCE DOWNTOWN IS A MAJORITY OF NON-RESIDENTS WHOs
1. PUT TRASH IN RECEPTACLES
2. PUT TRASH ON STREETS
3. USE STREETS, ETC.
EVEN THE WORKFORCE OF MIAMI's FIRE DEPT., POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND
CIVILIANS MAKE THEIR SALARIES FROM TAX DOLLARS, BUT MOST OF THEM
PAY NO CITY OF MIAMI TAXES.
WE NEED A STUDY TO DETERMINE HOW TO COME UP WITH A USER -FEE WHERE
MAYBE RESIDENTS GET A RESIDENT STICKER AND NON-RESIDENTS PURCHASE
A NON-RESIDENT TAG.
THE CITY OF MIAMI CANNOT CONTINUE NOR CAN WE AFFORD TO SUBSIDIZE
DADE COUNTY.
