A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE_ IN THE CONTRACT AMnUNT OF S4,000.nO IN THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA AND BUNNELL FOUNDATION, IPC. DATED FEBRUARY 1R, 1Q88 FOR THE CONSTRUCTInN OF SLIP #3 11OOPING DOLPHINS CIP PROJECT NO 411010. SAID FUNDS TO BE PROVIDED FROM THE PIER 3 - MAJOR REPAIR, WITH FUNDS ALREADY ALLOCATED TO THE PROJECT; FUP.THER ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF BUNNELL FOUNDATION, INC. AT A TOTAL COST OF $41,100.00; AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $16.900.00 WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated February 18, 1988 between the City of Miami, Florida and Bunnell Foundation, Inc. for SLIP *3 MOORING DOLPHINS, CIP Project No. 413010; and WHEREAS, an increase in contract of $4,900.00 is required to cover the cost of additional piling requested by the City; and WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Public Works recommends the increase in contract to cover the additional costs; and WHEREAS, funds to cover the increase are available from money already allocated to the project; and WHEREAS, all of the work included in the contract and the proposed increase in contract has been satisfactorily completed by Bunnell Foundation, Inc. and they have furnished the required documents certifying that all hills for labor and materials have been paie in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend acceptance of the completed work and authorization of final payment to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMP.ZISSION MEETI W3 OF MAQ 1988 SOLUTION No. MARKS. Section 1. The contract between the City of Miami, Florida and Bunnell Foundation, Inc. for the construction of Slip 03 Moorinq Dolphins CIP Project No. 41301n� dated February 18, 19SR is hereby increased by $4,400.00 with funds for the increase to be provided from monies already allocrtPd to the project. Section 2. The completed work performed by Bunnell Foundation, Inc. for SLIP #1 MOORING DOLPHINS C.I.P. Project No. 413010 is hereby accepted at a total cost of $41,9OO.00. Section 3. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay Bunnell Foundation, Inc. a balance of E16,900.nO as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with the aforesaid contract. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in order for the Commission to authorize an increase in contract amount, accent the completed work anei authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for Slip #3 Mooring Dolphins - CIP Project Ho. 411nIO. The Slip #3 Mooring Dolphins has been completed by Bunnell Foundation, Inc. The project consisted of constructing five dolphin clusters consisting of a total of 59 green heart piles along the south seawall of Bicentennial Park for the purpose of mooring naval vessels and other large ships.
