A RESOLUTION CONCERNING A PARADE TO BE
CONDUCTED BY DELTA NU ALPHA TRANSPORTATION
FRATERNITY, INC. ON MAY 20, 1988 APROVING THE
USE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC. SUBJECT TO THE, ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY
THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND
INSPECTION SERVICES AND THE CONDITION THAT THE
CITY WILL BE INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL
LIABILITY.
WHEREAS, Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, Inc. is
requesting the use of certain streets to conduct a parade on May
20, 1988 to focus attention on National Transportation Week
beginning at Watson Island and ending at the intersection of
Flagler Street and West Second Avenue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The use of certain streets and throughfares
during the National Transportation Week Parade to be conducted by
Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, Inc., on May 20, 1988
between the hours of 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. is hereby
authorized as specified below:
Flagler Street from Biscayne Boulevard to West Second
Avenue.
Biscayne Boulevard from McArthur Causeway to Flagler Street.
Section 2. The Police Department is hereby authorized to
control traffic flow on the streets to be utilized as part of the
parade course.
Section 3. Such authorization is hereby subject to the

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the use of certain streets for a
parade to be conducted by Delta Nu Alpha Transportation
Fraternity, Inc. on May 20, 1988, are subject to the issuance of
permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue and
Inspection Services.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Community Development has prepared the
appropriate legislation to authorize the use of certain streets
for the National Transportation Week Parade to be conducted by
Delta Nu Alpha Transportation FrAternity, tnt,. nn MAv 20, 1988.
The parade will start at Watson Island at 10:00 a.m., proceed
North on Biscayne Boulevard, then West on Flagler Street to
Northwest Second Avenue, where it will disperse.
The parade is being conducted to focus attention on the 1988
National Transportation Week Celebration.
