WHEREAS, pursuant received February 29, Electronic Directional Police; and to public notice, sealed bids were 1988 for the furnishing of one (1) Trackinq System for the Department of WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to nine (9) potential suppliers and one (1) bid was received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund Project No. 690001 Account Code #290910-840; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Police where protracted/complex investigations are involved; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Police recommend that the bid received from Audio Intelligence Devices be accepted as the only responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The February 29, 1988 bid of Audio Intelligence Devices for furnishing one (1) Electronic Directional Tracking System to the Department of Police at a total proposed cost of $13,500.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund Project No. 690001 Index Code 290910-840. Funding will be the Law Enforcement Trust Fund as approved by Resolution No. 87-654, as amended, Protracted/Complex Investigations. BACKGROUND: The Police Department has analyzed the bids received on February 29, 1988, for furnishing and purchasing one electronic directional tracking system. The bid of Audio Intelligence Devices was the only bid received and met the Department's specifications. On February 9, 1988, invitations for sealed bids for furnishing one electronic directional tracking system were sent to prospective vendors. Bids were opened on February 29, 1988, with one (1) vendor submitting a bid and two responding with a "No Bid". The Department of Police will utilize this system where protracted/complex investigations are involved. Ms. Adrienne MacBeth was contacted reference to Minority Participation and she concurs with the department's recommendation. It is, therefore, recommended that the award of bid be made to Audio Intelligence Devices.
