A RESOLUTION CONCERNING A PROCESSION TO 13E
CONDUCTED BY RENOVACION CARISMATICA CATOLICA
HISPANA ON MAY 21, 1988 APPROVING THE USE OF
DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC; SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY
THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND
INSPECTION SERVICES AND CONDITIONED UPON THE
ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR THE NECESSARY COSTS OF
CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT AND
THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED
AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY.
WHEREAS, Renovacion Carismatica Catolica Hispana is
requesting the use of certain streets to conduct a procession on
May 21, 1988 in Downtown Miami as part of the IV Charismatic
Conference to be held at the Miami Convention Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The use of certain streets and thoroughfares
during the procession to be conducted by Renovacion Carismatica
Catolica Hispana on May 21, 1988 between the hours. of 6:00 P.M.
to 11:00 P.M. is hereby authorized as specified below:
Biscayne Boulevard Southbound Lane from East Flagler Street
to Southeast Second Street.
(exception inside southbound)
Biscayne Boulevard Northbound from Southeast Fourth Street
to Second Street.
(exception outside northbound lane)
Southeast Second Street from Biscayne Boulevard to Southeast
Second Avenue.
Southeast Third Street from Biscayne Boulevard to Southeast
Second Avenue.
Southeast Fourth Street from Biscayne Boulevard to Southeast
Second Avenue.
(exception outside eastbound lane)
Southeast Third Avenue from Southeast Second Street to
Southeast Fourth Street.

Section 2. The Police Department is hereby authorized to
control traffic flow on the streets to be utilized as part of the
procession course.
Section 3. Such authorization is hereby subject to the
organizers paying for all cost of City services associated with
said event and the requirement that the City be insured against
any potential liability.

?' RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the use of certain streets for a
procession to be conducted by Renovacion Carismatica Catolica
Hispana on May 21, 1988, subject to the issuance of permits by the
i Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services.
BACKG ROUND :
The Department of Community Development has prepared the
appropriate legislation to authorize the use of certain streets for
a procession to be conducted by Renovacion Carismatica Catolica
Hispana on May 21, 1988 as part of the IV Charismatic Conference.
The Procession will be staged in Downtown Miami in the vicinity of
the Hyatt Regency and Dupont Plaza hotels.
